About Yael Avivi, Ph. D.
As a solution-focused psychologist with a diverse clinical background, I am able to tailor my work to fit the specific needs of each client. Many individuals will hit a rough patch in their lives leaving them feeling overwhelmed, stuck, alone, uninspired, unfulfilled, or just out of ideas. Clients are particularly ready for psychotherapy when the problem begins to interfere with functional living and relationships.
I empower clients to regain control of challenges and live richer lives with a deeper sense of meaning and connection. I balance supporting clients with offering gentle but clear feedback. This often leads to insight and growth, even breakthroughs. Typically, we will create therapy goals to pursue real, measurable change.
My work is eclectic. Although it is largely founded in principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), I also borrow from other theoretical orientations. Specialties include marital/relationship problems, anxiety, stress-management, depression, parenting, co-dependency/enabling, troubling memories, self-esteem, coping with chronic illness, and bereavement.
